Armed Robbery with a machete
July 15, 2021

On 7/7, A an unidentified Hispanic male suspect entered the Metro PCS store located in the 1100-block of S Woodland Boulevard in Deland. He spoke with a female employee about purchasing a cellphone. As the employee conducted research on the company computer the suspect removed a machete inside the right side of his pants and began waving it at the employee. He then ordered her to give him all of the cash from the register. The employee complied with the suspect and the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Animal Cruelty - Ponce Inlet
July 15, 2021

STATUS: OPEN

Between 6/20-6/25, a racoon located in the 4700 block of River Glen Boulevard was located and trapped. The racoon had its tail and both ears missing and which appeared to have been cut off. The racoon was taken to a local veterinarian who ultimately had to euthanize the animal. The veterinarian said the injuries were unlikely to have come from an attack from another animal.

Volusia Sheriff's detectives are attempting to identify the suspect involved in an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 10:00 PM at the Get N Go Gas Station on Derbyshire Rd in Daytona Beach. The suspect is described as a heavyset white male, with tattoos on both hands and his neck. He is believed to have left in the dark colored pickup truck.

Attempted First Degree Murder of a Law Enforcement Officer

Aggravated Battery with a Firearm

In the evening hours of 04/27/2021, the victim was driving home from work. The victim’s residence in within the Candlelight Oaks Subdivision. Upon entering the subdivision, the victim's vehicle was shot numerous times without provocation. The victim was struck multiple times but was able to drive away to safety. The victim did not identify a suspect at that time and the suspect remains unidentified.

Animal Abuse

This female dog was found in a ditch the morning of 3-28-21 on CR 205 south of the cemetery.  She was anemic, covered in infected bites and emaciated.

Wanted for Homicide - James Williams

STATUS: MOST WANTED
On Monday, November 23, 2020, at approximately 8:05 pm James Williams was involved in a shooting that occurred in the 400 Block of N. Caroline Street in Daytona Beach, Florida. James Williams was identified as the only suspect in the shooting and has been on the run ever since. James is believed to be occasionally dressing in women’s clothes to assist in preventing his capture. James is also known to have several female acquaintances to which he uses for places to stay.  James is also very familiar with the transient style of life and could be living on the streets.

Shell Station burglary - Deland

Sheriff's detectives are investigating the recent early morning burglary of a Shell gas station in the 2200-block of N Woodland Blvd in Deland.
 
Two fully disguised male subjects were observed on surveillance video having forced entry into the business around 5:30 a.m. Monday, March 1st. The pair, who were observed exiting the black passenger vehicle (shown) at the scene, escaped with an undetermined amount of cash.

Jewel Thieves (Kay Jewelers)

Daytona Beach Police are looking for 2 suspects of a ring theft that occurred at 6:42 p.m. on Tuesday Jan. 12 at Kay Jewelers in the Volusia Mall.
 
The two suspects came into the store at 4 p.m. and told the sales staff they were just looking and then left the store. The suspects returned later the same day and said they were looking for a two-carat solitaire ring. The sales associate said they did not have a two-carat ring in the store but showed them a one-and-a-half carat ring with white gold band valued at nearly $10,000. When the sales associate asked for the ring back, they handed her a different ring and ran out of the store.

Family Dollar - Assault & Battery
January 02, 2021

STATUS: OPEN
Daytona Beach Police are looking for the suspect of an assault and battery that occurred at 4:45 PM Saturday, Jan. 2, at Family Dollar at 200 N Ridgewood Ave.
 
The store manager said the suspect came into the store and got into a verbal argument with one of the vendors. The manager asked the suspect to leave the store, but the suspect ignored his request and proceeded to get more items in the store. The suspect then came to the register to pay for the items, one of them being a broom. The manager took the items from the suspect, placed them behind the register and advised the suspect to leave the store. The suspect then threw the broom at the store manager striking him in the chest and the left hand.
 
Surveillance footage showed the suspect is a white male, about 5'7"-5'9" and 200-260 lbs. The suspect was wearing a gray ball cap., black face mask, dark short-sleeve  shirt, dark colored shorts, and black runners.

Aggravated Assault w/Deadly Weapon - Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach Police are looking for a suspect who pulled a gun on a convenience store clerk the day after Christmas. The victim works at 7-Eleven in the 600-block of Oleander Ave. She said she decided to take a break and went outside to smoke a cigarette. She observed the suspect in the parking lot. The suspect was sitting in the parking lot for too long, and she told him to leave. He said to her, “all you do is take cigarette breaks!” He pointed a black pistol at her. She told police she was in fear for her life and felt he had the ability and intent to kill her. The suspect was with another man, who is considered a person of interest.

Unsolved Homicide - Daytona Beach
